ILOCOS SUR – A Taiwanese fishing vessel ran aground off Ilocos Sur on Thursday.
Fishing vessel “Hai Shun Shuan,” with three Taiwanese passengers, ran aground off Barangay Salomague in the town of Cabugao.
The vessel came from Malaysia and was on its way back to Taiwan when the incident occurred.
May notice of arrival kami sa Custom, Immigration at Coastguard,” said local agent Elmer Bardaje.
Investigation revealed that when the vessel arrived at the harbor area of Salomague Port, the crew did not notice the shallow portion of the area.
Authorities said the vessel and its crew members had proper documents.
On Friday, local fishermen helped the crew to re-float the grounded vessel. No coral reef was damaged by the grounded vessel.
