Duterte off to Thailand next week: DFA

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte will undertake an official visit to Thailand, home to to 16,000 Pinoy expatriates, on March 20 to 22.
The visit was set months after Duterte paid a brief visit to the country to pay his final respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
Duterte is set to hold a bilateral meeting with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to discuss defense cooperation and political concerns, among others.
He will also present Manila's plans in its 2017 chairmanship of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) before other Thai officials.
The President is also expected to meet the Filipino community in Thailand.
Duterte was on his way to an official visit to Malaysia in June last year when he made a brief stopover in Bangkok to condole with Thais over King Bhumibol Adulyadej's passing after a seven-decade reign.
