Duterte defends war on drugs again: Im ready to rot in hell

President Rodrig Duterte on Saturday defended anew his controversial campaign against illegal drugs, saying he does not mind dealing with its repercussions.

"I am ready to face the consequences and if I have to rot in hell I will do it... It will be my honor," Duterte said in his speech at the Kaamulan Festival celebration in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.

"Who will answer for the innocent lives?... for the children being raped, killed?" the President emphasized.

For the critics, who were saying that his administration's war on drugs are only targeting the poor, the President said: "Well, I am sorry... I have to clean up and until such time na mapatay ang mga drug lord."

Early this month, Duterte  said there was nothing he could do if poor people were killed in his war on drugs.

"Iyon talagang mahirap, iyan nga ang problema. So what do you…? You have to destroy the apparatus. It means people killed, wala talaga tayong magawa," the President said in his speech in Pasay City.
