Duterte: Communists have no rights to territories in PH

YANGON, Myanmar - President Rodrigo Duterte rebuffed communist groups who insisted they merely fought back government forces who ventured into their territories, stressing that the rebels have no rights to territories in the country.
"Ako ang may-ari ng buong Pilipinas, representing the Republic of the Philippines. Hindi ako papayag na may teritoryo na hindi amin. Akin lahat 'yan. Hindi kayo," he said during a brief interview with the media on the first day of his official visit.
(I own the entire Philippines, representing the Republic of the Philippines. I would not allow that there is a territory that is not ours. That is all mine, not yours.)
"It's not for you to claim. It is my office that would say where lies the boundary of my country," he added.
In his speech, Duterte also reiterated his call that the communists release all their prisoners.
"Third is that i-release ninyo lahat ng sundalo ko pati pulis na-kidnap ninyo, pati civilians, mga municipal, pati barangay officials. Fourth is that stop kayong maghingi [revolutionary tax]. Otherwise, giyera tayo. We have been at it for 50 years. Do you want another 50 years? Are you good for another 15 years?"
Meantime, Duterte also added warning to terrorists in Mindanao.
"I'm warning the Mindanao guys, do not tempt me to declare martial law in Mindanao, for starters, because if I declare Martial law, I will finish every problem of that island," he said.
"Tatapusin ko na talaga lahat para next generation wala na, magkaintindihan na ang Moro, kontento ang Kristiyano, kontento sila sa buhay nila and it's going to be a progressive island."
"But if I declare martial law I will finish all what ails the island. So do not force my hand into it because if I do, wala nang atrasan. Tatapusin ko talaga to the last period," he said.
