ILOILO - A couple was arrested over two bars of soap that contained illegal drugs, police said.
In a raid in Brgy. Nanga, Pototan, police recovered from Geraldin and Carlou Gonzalo two bars of soap that had suspected methamphetamine, locally known as shabu.
Investigators also found several receipts from a money remittance center in the couple's house.
Police said that based on the receipts, the couple received money through remittance center in exchange for shabu from inmates in the Iloilo jail.
The Pototan PNP believes the illegal drugs came from the Iloilo district jail because the soap bars are sold by the inmates at the jail facility.
Carlou worked as a vendor at the Iloilo jail.
The suspects meanwhile denied selling illegal drugs.
