Cayetano calls Trillanes kuryente king for tirades vs Duterte

MANILA - Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Thursday called Senator Antonio Trillanes as "Kuryente King" for claiming that President Rodrigo Duterte had P2B in undeclared funds.
"We know from the start that parating Kuryente King si Senator Trillanes pagdating niya kay President Duterte," said Cayetano, Duterte's running-mate and staunch ally.
"Trillanes, just like what he did during the Arroyo administration, is destabilizing the government. The only difference is that there are true issues then, but now there are imagined issues," Cayetano added.
Trillanes on Thursday revived allegations that Duterte had undeclared funds in his bank accounts, an accusation that Malacanang said was not worth the president's time to answer.
Cayetano said the president already authorized the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) through chief legal counsel Sal Panelo to release his bank documents to disprove that the account holds some P2 billion.
"Kung kumpleto itong dokumentong ito, dapat nilabas na niya lahat before June 30 para wala pang presidential immunity ang pangulo," Cayetano said.
(If Trillanes had all the documents, he should have released these before June 30 when Duterte had no presidential immunity yet).
When asked about Trillanes's motives, Cayetano said the lawmaker may be bitter that Duterte did not pick him as his vice president during the 2016 polls.
"Nag apply siya ng VP nito. Nung siya ay nireject at hindi siya kinuha, sumama siya kay Grace Poe. Ginagawa niya ang lahat para siraan si President Duterte," Cayetano said.
(Trillanes applied as Duterte's VP. When he was rejected, he ran with Grace Poe and has been out to destroy Duterte since then.)
Trillanes is also trying to discredit Duterte in a bid to protect several bigwigs targeted by the administration's reforms, Cayetano said.
"This is another desperate attempt of Senator Trillanes to stop the reforms that are happening now kasi marami sigurong padrino niya o nasa likod niya ay tinatamaan ng reforms na nagaganap ngayon."
Cayetano said Trillanes has yet to account where he sourced the P20 million funds used to purchase primetime airtime in major broadcast stations in May 2016 when some last minute black propaganda against Duterte were aired.
